살거나 일하거나 지내는 방이나 방들을 뜻함. 영국에서는 불가산 명사.

There is a shortage of accommodation.

accompany

누군가와 어딘가를 같이 가는 것. 동행. 꽤 격식 있는 단어.

She asked me to accompany her to the church.

일상 대화에서는 go with come with 를 씀.

I went with my friends to see what it looked like.
He wished Ellen had come with him.

go with come with 에는 수동태가 없으므로 accompany 를 써야함.

He was accompanied by Clare Boothe Luce, his second wife.

accord

자의로 무엇인가를 했다는 것을 뜻함. of one's own accord

She knew they would leave of their own accord.

according to

특정 사람이나 책 문서등에서 정보를 얻었다는 뜻.

According to Dr Santos, the cause of death was drowning.

일상 대화에서는 Someone says 이렇게 말함.

Arnold says they do this in Essex as well.

according to me, according to us 는 말하지 않음.
대신 in my opinion in our opinion 을 씀.

In my opinion, we face a national emergency.

accuse

accuse someone of doing something wrong 뭔가 잘못한 행동했다고 말하는 것.

He accused them of drinking beer while driving.

charge

charge someone with committing a crime 경찰등이 공식적으로 그들을 고발 하는 것.

He was arrested and charged with committing a variety of offences.

accustomed to

익숙해져서 어색하게 느끼지 않는 상태. 보통 be become get grow 뒤에 쓰임.

It did not get lighter but I became accustomed to the dark.

일상 대화에서 used to 를 씀.

Pilots are used to the mid-afternoon switch from one runway to the other.

to do 가 아닌 accustomed to doing used to doing

The bank president is accustomed to working in the Elysee Palace.

accustom oneself to 받아들이고 익숙해지는 것

He sat very still, trying to accustom himself to the darkness.
